Wool Week

Wool Week is being celebrated this week and brands such as Alexander McQueen and Christian Louboutin are taking part!

The Campaign for Wool was launched by the Prince of Wales and this weeks calls for supporters to get behind the sustainable fashion.

HarveyNichols.com has got behind the campaign and made eight bespoke wool bags available. Guests including Erin O’Connor, Nicholas Coleridge and Averyl Oates attended the wool week launch at the Knightsbridge store earlier in the week.

Customers wanting to get their hands on a wooly bag by the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Burberry, McQueen and Louboutin, can bid for their favourites on eBay. For more info visit the SITE.

With wool being big, especially this week, we checked out the latest offering from Amy Hall, part of a new wave of knitwear designers.

ASOS selected Amy as one of its leading designers to launch their new online boutique concept ASOS Marketplace.

And as Amy has just launched her second collection for Autumn Winter 2011 we decided to take a look. Each piece is handmade for her customers using high quality pure British lambs wool and Peruvian alpaca with mohair. Using these raw materials and with a variety of knitting techniques, Amy has sculpted garments with flat and chunky cabled panels alongside figure-hugging rib to create flattering, dramatic pieces.
