With her new album 4 flying straight to number 1, her dazzling performance at Glastonbury and the premiere of the video for her new single Best Think I Never Had – Online Editor Debbie Attwood takes a look at the women taking over the world.
So why is the world in love with Beyonce? She shys away from drama that surrounds others with half her fame, has a successful relationship with arguably the biggest star in hip hop and still manages to keeps her status as THE Independent woman.
Despite keeping herself private, knowing that Beyonce writes all her own material, makes us feel as though we get a sneak peak into her world. And with documentaries like The Year of 4 – we feel just that little bit closer to the superstar, and we like what we see.
Now I may be biased, as a MASSIVE fan but I have to disagree with the critics slamming 4 as the superstar’s worst solo album. With clear African influences throughout the album as well as some reggae thrown in and even motown, I actually think it is one of her best yet. Favourite track? Definitely End of Time or Countdown, the more up-tempo of the tracks, but I also love I Care and Rather Die Young.

As she stormed the stage at Glastonbury the world finally got to see what all her fans have known for a long time – she is one of the best performers in the world. It seems Beyonce has it all, the body, defying the skinny model image, the voice and the life.
Watch out ladies, the Queen B is back!
