From Posh Spice to Posh lady, iFashion takes a look at Victoria Beckham’s dramatic transformation over the years.

Catapulted to superstardom as one fifth of ’90s girl group The Spice Girls, Victoria’s early style was both a product of the era and of her alter ego; Posh Spice. Frequently seen wearing fitted black outfits, Victoria always wore her hair in a glossy bob to compliment her sleek look.

Victoria continued to show off her figure in tight mini dresses into the late ’90s while sporting a short and spiky pixie cut. Wearing a rather daring red number and matching heels in 1999, Victoria’s love of leather was also shared by her then boyfriend David Beckham. The couple looked impossibly bronzed in head to toe leather at a Versace party.

After tying the knot with David, Victoria seemed to embrace the WAG status. Wearing glamorous dresses and sporting voluminous extensions, Victoria looked every inch the footballer’s wife. She was regularly seen out with fellow wags and never looked like she was without the fake tan!

By 2003, the hemlines and hair got longer as Victoria settled into motherhood and with the return of the pob (posh bob), Victoria reached her fashion best. She wore a stunning floor sweeping Alaia dress at the 2007 Academy awards. By 2008, Victoria’s hair was shorter and sleeker than ever before and her style simple and elegant, but always with a modern edge.

Establishing herself as a designer, Victoria chose to wear a show stopping black dress from her own collection at the 2009 Elton John AIDS foundation Oscar party. In the past few years, celebrities have been queuing up to wear Mrs Beckham’s designs. It seems everyone wants a piece of Victoria’s style and with the ability to look chic with a high flying career and four children, who wouldn’t!

Victoria went from a part of one of the biggest (though not most fashionable) girlbands of all time, to WAG, to style icon and fashion designer. It certainly is a style evolution!
