The British Fashion Council has announced the nominees for the British Fashion Awards 2011 – and it’s going to be a close call.

Up for Designer of the Year is of course Sarah Burton. The creative director of Alexander McQueen was always a favourite for the list after creating Kate Middleton’s wedding gown.

Burton will be up against Erdem and Christopher Kane for the prestigious award.

Victoria Beckham has been nominated for Designer Brand of the Year, against the likes of Burberry, Tom Ford and Stella McCartney.

Making a name for herself this year Georgia Jagger has been nominated for Model of the Year, alongside Kristen McMenamy and Stella Tennant.

We will have to wait until November to see the results, but we will be placing our bets!
