The stars lit up the red carpet last night for the annual Teen Choice Awards in LA. We check out who wore what and who stole the show…

Taylor Swift stole the teen crown after being awarded the Ultimate Choice Award for her contributions to the entertainment industry. The country singer was also given awards for favourite female artist, best country artist, best country song, best breakup song and red carpet icon. PHEW – what a night for the singer! Taylor looked simply stunning to accept her awards in a white Marilyn Monroe-inspired halter dress by designer Rafael Cennamo, accessorised with statement drop earrings by Neil Lane and Fendi peep toes.

Justin Biebers’ beau Selena Gomez also stacked up the awards, wining five surf board trophies for Choice TV Actress, female hottie and best music group with her band The Scene. The singer and her band were also awarded with two additional trophies for choice love song and choice single. Selena went for neutrals on the night in a plunging bustier mini dress with chiffon tail by Erin Fetherston.

Bieber wasn’t too far behind (shockingly), winning four trophies for his showbiz efforts. Other winners included, Ashton Kutcher, Ellen DeGeneres and Cameron Diaz for her role in movie ‘Bad Teacher.’

Popular TV and Movie awards went to ‘Glee,’ ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ and of course ‘The Twilight Saga.’

The vibrant event draws in a whole host of celebrities each year, beyond those who have been nominated for an award. Aimed at and voted for by teenagers, the celebrities always choose the most colourful, fresh and young outfits to wear.

Perhaps surprisingly, it was the older stars who embraced the bright colours. Cat Deely wore a mini lace dress in a luminous turquoise shade while Fergie showed her star power in a yellow and black Dolche and Gabbana dress with a loud starry print. Blake Lively was a citrus dream in fitted orange shift dress and Louboutin heels. Cameron Diaz toned it down with a strapless ALC which showed off every inch of her amazing legs, not to mention the killer coral, black and white Burak Uyan shoes!
