Blogger, musician and girl about town Jade Williams aka Sunday girl has been creeping up on our fashion radar for a while now. Much like her unique and enigmatic music, Sunday girl’s style has earned her considerable respect with the fashion press, landing tickets to FW shows and frequently appearing on best dressed lists.
The name Sunday Girl was chosen after Jade’s old job working at a local pet store on a Sunday, before she moved away to Brixton to study set design at University and work on her singing career. Jade seamlessly blends dreamy electronic covers (listen to ‘self control’) and writes her own material. It appears she likes to do everything herself as well; styling herself, she is heavily involved with all artwork, video shoots and set designs as well as updating her own blog that we have been following for a good while now.
At the Burberry Serpentine Summer party earlier this year, Jade showed the public just why she is tipped to be the next big thing. Wearing a gorgeous black shift dress with cut out detailing, she looks classy, fresh and oh-so-fashionable, particularly due to the midi length of the ensemble. Jade also nails androgyny as well as ladylike, pulling off a royal blue suit and pumps as easily as she rocks a floaty floral maxi. Her staple, buttoned up white shirt looks particularly stylish worn with an oversized mannish coat and loose fitted Zara pants, as Jade were photographed at Fashion Night Out in September. We couldn’t have styled this look better ourselves!
Our favourite Sunday Girl look has to be her mismatched to perfection printed shirt and skirt to the Quintessentially awards in London. Not many would have the confidence or eye to pull off such a daring combination, but the Sidcup born singer works it effortlessly. Much in the same way, her ditsy floral dress and 70s style floppy hat at the Christian Dior show in Paris has made us reconsider our own wardrobes. Sunday girl, your style and sound is sublime and you might just be our new favourite thing…ever!
