With piercing green eyes and elfish features, it’s no wonder Australian actress Isabel Lucas is receiving a lot of attention from the fashion press of late. Mix this with her ethereal bohemian style and ability to pull off outfits we could only dream about; Isabel is fast becoming our biggest fashion crush to date. You may recognise her from Home & Away, as she played school girl Tasha Andrews circa 2003; although now you are more likely to see Isabel looking infectiously stylish in Los Angeles while she focuses on her movie career.
Isabel moved to LA in 2008, bringing her own brand of quirky Aussie cool to the Hollywood scene. A lover of white, Isabel often wears lighter hues which not only compliment her otherworldly demeanor, but also her sun kissed skin. By 2009, Isabel landed a role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, choosing to wear a sparkling vintage dress to the premiere. She has a keen eye for picking out killer vintage pieces and working them in unusual ways, rarely getting it wrong.
Part of the charm about Isabel is that she is so un-typically Hollywood; we can sort of imagine being her friend. Just as often papped out and about as she is at swanky events, Isabel manages to look off duty cool and low key all of the time. Maxi dresses and easy cardigans are her style staples and the perfect accompaniments for her easy, effortless look. Let’s not mention the fact she is a sickeningly natural beauty, often going out without a scrap of makeup.
Although we like Isabel’s casual style, it is her more polished evening looks that really have us yearning for her wardrobe. At this year’s Met Gala, Ms Lucas arrived wearing a coral pleated LV gown and jewelled headwear. You can certainly see how her love for individual vintage pieces influences her clothing choices. More recently, Isabel dressed in a stunning high-neck lace gown from Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2011 collection for the Young Hollywood Awards. A true fashionista, Isabel’s refreshing and unique style has certainly won us over. With new film Immortals out in November and four more projects in the pipelines-if you hadn’t heard of Isabel Lucas before now, you soon will.
