With singers and actresses starting from such a young age, it seems style evolutions can happen overnight. Take for instance the sweet young Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen, who went from pretty young thing to crazy rocker in a few short steps. We take a look at the style evolution of Taylor Momsen.

Before Taylor dropped onto our radar as the New Yorker Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl, she auditioned for the part of Hannah Montana up against Miley Cyrus. The happy-go-lucky youngster gave no indication of what was to come.

She wore pretty dresses and stepped out as you would expect any TV star to.

The first signs of a change came when Momsen chopped her pretty locks into an edgier style. As the hair got shorter and sexier so did the outfits. Taylor got her legs out more and worked the underwear as outerwear style.

The make-up got a little more smokey and smudged as well.

Taylor began to wear more and more black and worked the rock chic look. Ripped leggings and sheer dresses were the beginnings of her signature style.

In 2009 Taylor’s band The Pretty Reckless got a record deal and as she became a fully-fledged front woman she definitely dressed the part. Leather and fish nets were always on show and the make-up was black and more black!

Next came the extensions, which have got longer and longer. Taylor went for a more androgynous look following this before heading for full on sex appeal. With lace, sheer and black, not to mention the suspenders, Taylor has turned from sweet California girl to vampy goth in a few short years.
