Style Evolution: Kristen Stewart

It is fair to say Kristen Stewart has grown up on our screens, landing her first major role aged 11 alongside Jodie Foster. However, it wasn’t until Twilight began that the raven-haired beauty was propelled to superstardom, after being cast as Bella Swan in the cult saga. We take a look at Kristin’s unique style over the years.

At her first ever premiere, young Kristen couldn’t have looked more different. Sporting a dark blonde bob and drowned in a long black coat, the actress looks rather awkward albeit undeniably cute. At the opening night of Zathura three years later and with more acting experience under her belt, Kristen’s style started to evolve and she showed a glimmer of the woman we recognise today. With darker and longer hair, she looked much more relaxed in a pinstripe blazer and slouchy jeans instead of a dress. Always unafraid to try something a little different on the red carpet, Kristen is a fan of the smart casual look, paired down with rocky converse trainers.

Embracing her blonde roots, Kristen brightened up her Barnett for the 2007 premiere of indie film ‘Into the Wild.’ We love seeing her more grown up, ladylike side and think she looked stunning in the pleated and ruffled Rodarte dress and red python pointed pumps by Michael Kors. After landing the starring role in what has become the biggest movie phenomenon of the decade; Kristen attended her fair share of Twilight premieres, events and promos world over. Dressed in some of the most sought-after designer garments, Kristen wore a one shouldered, tri-colour Balenciaga dress at the 2008 opening in Hollywood.

Although we love to see Kristen all dolled up, we can’t help but applaud her quirky and far more relaxed smart casual style, which we have no doubt she prefers. At the 2009 MTV Movie awards, Kristen dressed down a youthful red and black mesh dress with a trusty pair of converse sneakers. This is one of our favourite Kristen looks to date! For the second instalment of Twilight, New Moon, Kristen wore a floor length ball gown to the LA premiere. Her porcelain skin and raven black hair worked well against the grey tones of the dress, championing the pop-rock princess look.

It seems as the years have gone on Kristen has become more comfortable and has embraced her role as the beautiful A-lister. She attended London Fashion Week this year and made a statement this week in a J.Mendel gown with a thigh-high split and Jimmy Choos. With many more premieres for the talented actress to come we now look forward to her style statements.
