When it comes to autumn fragrances, those in the know are predicting wood and rose notes to take centre stage.
“This Autumn is all about warm resins and woods blended with heart notes of floral absolutes such as Rose, and jasmine,” says perfumer Daniel Vaudd.
Additionally, expect a return to traditional, oriental scents with a fresh twist. “Modern interpretations of the oriental structure will come to the fore, but without the sticky heaviness,” says master perfumer Roja Dove.
“Sandalwood and Orris will be key materials, with sensual floral notes of Jasmine and Rose.”
With its intoxicating blend of patchouli layered over iris and prune, Annick Goutal’s Mon Parfum Cheri is perfect for spicy hit, while the combination of vetiver and Bulgarian rose in Van Cleef & Arpels’ Un Air de First make for a rich, powdery scent that’s bang on trend.
