New Boutiques and Online Marketplaces
QRated
QRated.com launched this month. The site sources fashion musts from around the world ready for us to get our hands on. The site will showcase a ‘fashion find’ each day for 24 hours to its members. Membership is free but limited and only a certain number of registrations are allowed each day, so sign up quick.
iFashion readers can use the code iFashion to gain immediate access to the site. Get in there quick.
Director and Founder Josh Kandhari said: “There are so many incredible designers that have limited distribution in the fashion marketplace and as a result are unable to get their beautiful collections in front of consumers. QRated provides a platform to recognise this pool of talent whilst offering members uniquely precious pieces that are not readily available on the high street.”
Bell and Smokey
Bell and Smokey is another gem iFashion came across recently. Not having been live long, the online retailer carries womenswear, lingerie and accessories.
The aim of the site, according to the team, is to cater to young professional women who wish to invest in sophisticated clothing carried in no or very few UK retailers.
Brands currently available on the site include Arrondissement AQ1, Dace, The Battalion and LaMixx.
Laurie Prescott, who conceived the site, said: “We have created an online home for timeless and beautiful clothing with a directional twist. Prior to Bell & Smokey’s inception, we felt there was a notable lack of online boutiques appealing to women who want their style to look polished but with an edge.”
Independent Boutique
Independent Boutique launched last month with the aim of providing unique items from up and coming British designers.
With womenswear, jewellery, accessories and footwear, the boutique offers brands including Zoe Boomer, Little Glass Clementine, Luva Huva and Penelope and Parker.
Founder of the site Richard Salmon said: “We have launched IndependentBoutique.com to help give the fantastic, up and coming brands that are emerging in Britain a platform to showcase their collections. We ensure that every brand meets our high standards and have handpicked them so that the shopping experience is both exciting and fulfilling. The brands sell on the site as a collective and therefore can benefit from reaching out to a wider audience as well as other areas such as PR and marketing ”
Monica and Joe
Monica and Joe launched at the beginning of the year and specialises in bridging the gap between the UK and European market. Started by husband and wife team Monica and Joe, who have been working in the industry for 20 years, it already has some amazing pieces on the site.
As well as the well-known labels like Cacharel and By Marlene Birger, there are also French labels Madras and By Zoe and Dutch label Munthe Plus Simonsen.
The couple said: “We believe the Monica & Joe edit of exciting brands fills a gap in the market, introducing our customers to a raft of new designers which, in some cases, they can’t find anywhere else. We are dedicated to developing the brand and finding new labels which fit with our ethos of must-have style at reasonable prices and we like to offer a personalised service.”
