The stars came out last night for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.

Two of the biggest stars of the moment stepped out in one of our favourite designers – Balmain.

Leighton Meester and Kristen Stewart both adopted a shimmering rocky look for the evening. With Twilight as usual dominating the show, Kristen flew the flag for the cast in a short red number, covered in jewels and safety pins. Keeping it simple but stylish Kristen did good!

And fresh from her Vera Wang ad airing, Leighton chose a metallic shiny embellished dress, which she matched to some Pierre Hardy sandals.

Emma Watson and Selena Gomez also opted for similar outfits. The Harry Potter star kept things simple in a Marchesa dress with beautiful detailing on the neckline and shoulders, glamming things up with her Brian Atwood footwear.

Mrs Bieber, AKA Selena Gomez, showed off her tan in a simple Giambattista Valli mini skirt and sleeveless silk top.

Some of the stars went for the block colour look for the evening. A veteran of these award shows, Cameron Diaz went for the all in black look and showed off her bronzed legs in a simple Philip Lim jumpsuit and Lanvin shoes.

Blake Lively also worked the block look in blue Michael Kors dress and Louboutin heels.
