Just like clothing, hairstyles dip in and out of fashion. iFashion takes a look at the hair trends that are set to be big news for S/S 12. The LFW team at Toni & Guy used cutting edge products to create hairstyles that complimented each designer collection. From loose waves to playful top knots, there was a hairstyle to suit every aesthetic!
The Disheveled Wave – Giles
This look is all about the hair being loose and unstructured. The best way to create loose waves as shown by the Toni & Guy team, is by applying a volumizing mousse and drying hair using a diffuser attachment. Combing through the ends helps to achieve a piece-y, undone style.
Glamourous curls – Issa
Chic, full-bodied curls reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour was the hairstyle of choice at the Issa show. Created with the use of larger sized hot rollers and plenty of gloss spray, the bouncy waves shone, complimenting the tropicana feel of the collection.
Modern top knot – Paul Costelloe
The models at the Costelloe show wore a modern and playful take on the top knot. Roller curls were piled high on top of the head for a voluminous, bouncy and fresh look. Not for the faint hearted, this kooky look gave the collection a youthful lift and complimented the sumptuous colour palette.
The Bouffant – Krystof Strozyna
The bouffant is back, or at least made a larger than life appearance at the Krystof Strozyna show. Models looked fierce with backcombed hair secured into a high bouffant with elastic headbands securing hair off the face. The Toni and Guy team worked to achieve this look by teasing the hair high and using plenty of hairspray.
The Sleek Side Part – Todd Lynn
While the centre part has been very much in fashion in recent times, the models walking for Todd Lynn wore their hair in sleek side partings tied back into low ponytails. The ponytail hair was bouncy and full, secured with two bands fastened close together to give the hair an interesting orb like detail. Toni & Guy created the perfect minimalist hair-style for hot S/S days.
