LFW Celeb Spotting

With LFW coming to a close, celebrity pictures have been popping up all over the internet, giving us further wardrobe envy over our own inadequate clothing collections. Dressing to impress is a prerequisite when attending a fashion week event and the FROW girls (and boys) seem to be hitting all the right fashion notes this year. We take a look at what makes celebrities reach style icon status and how clever dressing can insure a golden front row ticket for years to come.

Olivia Palermo is certainly making her name in the fashion industry. Her polished style is always fresh and never boring, making her the perfect icon for city slickers.

Perhaps even more admirable is the fact Olivia has a knack for layering and print clashing with such effortless ease and rarely, if ever, gets it wrong. Wearing a crisp tuxedo blazer, high neck blouse and black maxi at the Jaeger show, Olivia gives us the perfect take on A/W monochrome.

At the Topshop Unique show, The City star shows her adaptable and playful fashion side, wearing a red silk midi and black blazer with a tan fedora and suede ankle boots. Olivia, we salute you.

Being the Editor-in-Chief of one of the largest fashion publications in the world, it’s no surprise Anna Wintour has been attending a plethora of shows with her trademark fly-away free bob and oversized sunnies.

A woman who has defied the odds of a sometimes ageist industry, Anna embraces trends while never compromising on her own unique style, which has a timeless quality and is ever age appropriate (Anna Dello Russo can take note).

Wearing a printed midi-length shift at the Nicole Farhi show and a Monet inspired longline mac for Topshop Unique, Anna continues to be an influential figure of the fashion industry, both through her aspirational career and iconic allure.

It certainly wouldn’t be LFW without a heavy dose of British cool as championed by our reigning fashion queen Kate Moss. The smoldering Moss wore a LBD to the Rimmel London party the night before Fashion Week officially launched. Considering her hugely influential status on the British fashion industry, Kate never has to try too hard with her outfit choices, singlehandedly reviving the skinny jean a good few years back. Turning up at the Mulberry show in double denim and a black fedora, Kate re-confirms that sometimes fashion is best served effortlessly, comfortably and always classically.

Young starlett, Eliza Doolittle has made more than her fair share of FROW appearances, wearing suitably quirky outfits. A sure fire way to get you noticed in the fashion circuit, her youthful and playful attitude towards style means she is unafraid to try out the latest trends. Wearing a full crochet Henry Holland skirt at his show, Dalmation print fur at the Topshop Unique and a knitwear dress to Mark Fast, she certainly is a style chameleon!

Another risk taking fashionista, UK songstress Jessie J turned heads at her colourful fashion week appearance. Her first time at LFW, Jessie was keen to stand out from the other more demurely dressed FROWers. Choosing to wear bright pants and a purple wig to Giles Deacon, Jessie did not let her broken foot dampen her spirits. We expect to see more FROW appearances from her in the future!

Being the sister of a Royal pretty much guarantees a FROW seat. Pippa Middleton has been impressing the fashion world ever since she shimmied down the aisle aiding the now Duchess of Cambridge with her McQueen gown. Wearing ankle boots and a cream and black mini dress at Temperley, Pippa certainly impressed at her first high profile fashion show since the Royal Wedding. Seeing as Kate wasn’t available, this was the next best thing for the fashion press.

Other stars who have turned up in notably fashionable garb include Kristen Stewart, who wore a youthful and feminine Mulberry dress to the brand’s show, Sienna Miller in a printed navy jacket and simple black jeans at Matthew Williamson and Pixie Lott, in a breton stripe knit dress and sequined collar at Jaeger. With so many stylish women and unique looks to choose from, we have more than enough inspiration for our winter wardrobes.
