John Galliano took to the stand yesterday for his trial over alleged anti-Semitic comments.

Galliano arrived at the Paris court yesterday morning, making it his first public appearance for months.

The designer blamed his addiction to drugs and alcohol for making the remarks. He has repeatedly apologised for making the remarks and has apparently been in rehab recently getting treatment for his addictions.

Five people were due to give evidence and the verdict will be given in September.
