What: Delicious Asian fusion food with a twist
Where: Inamo St James (www.inamo-stjames.com)
Why: You have never tried anything like this before
This weekend just gone I decided I wanted to try something new and different. Living in London, there is a real mix of cuisine to choose from and we are spoilt rotten with choice, which, to be honest, sometimes makes things a little more difficult.
However, there is a new food baby in town, Inamo, which I had been waiting to try. I booked a table for Saturday night and it was showtime, quite literally.
Inamo is a brand new concept in this town I call home. You walk in to a very chilled atmosphere with beats playing in the background. The restaurant gives a great first impression, decor, light and not to mention smell. Suddenly I realised how hungry I was. We were seated by our lovely waitress and it became very clear, we were about to not only have dinner, but experience something different.
The waitress took us through how to use our very own table. I felt like I was sitting in the future. Everything was interactive and you could control everything. Food and drinks were ordered straight from our computer in the table. You clicked in and as you clicked into an item it showed up on your table from the above projector. It felt like magic. A few clicks in (very easy to use by the way) and I had ordered cocktails and few “small dishes” to start with which arrived well within the 15min promised cut-off point.
The food is Asian Fusion and I’m sold and fusioned. The restaurant encourages parties to share, so we were of course picking on everything. While taking a break from eating I discovered the “ambience” section. BAM! Our table had changed from beautiful green bamboo forest to a bottle green background. I mean really, you can change the table to suit your mood, your shoes or you outfit. Incredible. We had glazed salmon, seafood curry and duck pancakes for mains which were all nom noms. For dessert ice cream and macaroon with white chocolate mousse. I left happily stuffed and excited not just about food and great service, but for the experience.
