The Nu Wave

Make sure waves are bigger and softer for a modern take on a classic style this season. To create this look make sure the hair is freshly clean and lightly conditioned to remain bouncy. Apply a lightweight mousse and start by blow drying the hair thoroughly with a vented brush. Divide hair into generous sections and twist each section of hair around your finger. Remove twist from finger and use flat irons to press on each twist. Continue until the whole head is finished and use a large paddle brush, brush the waves out to create a softer look.

The Springy Bob

This is the perfect style to spice up a bob haircut for next season but it looks equally good on longer tresses. The wave are tighter and closer together, as forties elegance is set to be a huge trend. To create the look divide hair into small sections and use tongs or flat irons to create waves. Lightly brush out at the ends and hairspray near the crown to make the waves lie flatter to the head. Smooth on some wax to create a wet look a la Christian Dior, or for a more modern style leave the waves brushed out for a bouncier effect.

The Centre Drape

When hair wasn’t hiding behind dalmation berets, it was swept back into loose low slung ponytails at the Burberry Prorsum show. Create this look by centre parting hair and lightly back coming around the face framing layers to create some lift and volume. Secure into a bun or pony at the nape of the neck. Olivia Palermo often opts for this easy style, which is both chic and effortless.

The Sleek Pony

As seen on the Luis Vuitton catwalks as a perfect accompaniment to the Fetish trend, this is a relatively easy look to achieve, especially if you have straight hair.
Iron hair flat, add some gloss spray and scrape back into a gravity defying pony-tail with a hair tie. You can even wrap a piece of hair around to hide the band, taking from the bottom and securing with bobby pins.
