Hotpants and playsuits rock Glastonbury fashion, reports iFashion’s festival scout Sally Meeson.
Sporting hot pants and wellies, Kate Moss recently topped a poll of festival fashion moments for her iconic appearance at Glastonbury. The look offered stylish festival goers a practical solution to managing the mud, while still looking feminine and sexy. This year, Glasto’s fashion devotees proved that Moss’ memorable outfit would become a timeless one, as they continued to follow her lead in tiny shorts and playsuits.
On what turned out to be a particularly squelchy year on Worthy Farm, Wellington Boots were a prerequisite. However, teamed with a bit of leg, the classic Hunter becomes the foundation for a cute summer outfit. Many threw chunky-knits or parkas over their bikini tops but, with the aid of a pair of denim cut-offs, the look becomes immediately ‘festival’!
Those looking for an alternative to hot pants worked this season’s playsuits. The short, one pieces were seen in an array of florals, distressed denim and bright acids… but proved a challenging choice when braving the festival loos!
One world famous fashionista who took the ‘short short’ to a whole new level was headliner Beyonce. The bootylicious babe rounded up the festival on Sunday night wearing what appeared to be a pair of giant, black spandex pants teamed with an embellished gold jacket.
We shall wait to see if this look catches on or even steals Kate Moss’s crown for iconic festival fashion. Either that or it might land a cameo in the next Bridget Jones movie…after all, she does love those big pants!
