NYFW is re-igniting our sartorial hearts. Just as we have started collecting pieces for our SS wardrobes, the A/W 2012/13 collections are making us appreciate the cold once again. While Christian Dior is yet to show on the runway, they have just released their Fall 2012 lookbook which is the epitome of Parisian chic. Shot in street style manner, the ‘in motion’ and detail shots give us a varied perspective of the gorgeous new collection, which has a definitively more structured and classic appeal to last winter’s heavily ’70s influenced offering.
Belted boucle jackets teemed with streamlined pencil skirts work in harmony with more modern accents such as a fluffy leopard printed tote. Plastic black macs are cut at the elbows and belted around the waist to give a cocoon shape and the polo neck is still a staple layering piece; worn under jackets and gathered dresses. We adore the fuchsia pink cocoon coat, styled with a black polo, simple black tights and some strappy heels.
Embellishment is more refined, carefully adorning pencil skirts and shirt cuffs in an elegant manner. 3D lace that defined an entire trend in SS returns in a more moody manner, covering the front of a deep purple tulip dress and a classic cream shift. We also love the return of vibrant purple; a jacquard dress and a pair of bright tights make for a punchy fashion impact! J’adore Dior!
