After months of speculation it was finally confirmed last week that Cheryl Cole will become a US X Factor judge.

And it seems her first day on the job has gone well! Although we are not so sure about the hair or the outfit, she has certainly made an impression on her fellow judge Paula Abdul.

Paula immediately set about putting to bed rumours that Cheryl’s Geordie accent would be a problem as she tweeted: ‘Lots of you ask “What’s it like to work w/ Cheyl Cole? can you understand her accent?” She’s a delight, lovely & sweet. what accent? :)’

It seems Chezza got her wish after all and continues as Simon’s right hand woman. No Girls Aloud reunion any time soon then?
