What: Amazing Thai food
Where: 19 Chapel Walks, Manchester (www.chaophraya.co.uk/manchester)
Why: Best Thai you’ll try
I took a trip to Manchester this weekend after a long trip on Friday the first thing on my mind was of course food… with so many choices we wanted to find somewhere good to eat.
After a high recommendation from a friend we decided to venture to Chaophraya, a Thai restaurant in the town centre. I haven’t had Thai food in a long time so it seemed like a good choice.
When we got there we were told it would be an hour until a table was available – should have booked! Oh well, we decided to wait and it was definitely worth it.
Everything down to the decoration and the service could not have been better. Despite the place being packed, we didn’t have to wait long for anything.
We had both had a cheeky snack (it was an hour wait…. come on!) so we decided to skip straight to the main course. I chose the chicken Thai green curry with sticky rice and my dinner partner chose the pad Thai. Not the most exciting of choices but we didn’t care, they were delicious! I mean delicious. I have since had three more Thai green curries because I am so obsessed with them. I am told the Pad Thai was amazing too, not that I would know as it was devoured before I could have a try.
We were told that a few restaurants had tried to make things work in the space over the years but none had made it work. This one has, however, and it is apparently packed every night! We can certainly see why, so much so we headed back there the second night to try it again, and we NEVER do that.
If you are in Manchester I would seriously recommend you try it!
