Blogs are taking over the world. No longer are we turning to celebrities to tell us what to wear, it’s those writing about them that are setting the trends – even when they are only 13 years old (yes I am talking about Tavi)!

A fashionista without a blog is like Anna Wintour without her sunglasses! Here iFashion Magazine gets up close and personal with a certain blogger and his style, fashion tips and favourite online boutiques.

MSalonen has been blogging for just over a year. He started with writing fashion pieces for a friend and he now blogs at Msalonen.com about everything from fashion and beauty, to celebrity gossip.

“I mostly concentrate on fashion stuff with a difference; I don’t just tell readers about a new pair of shoes etc, I tell them what they should wear. I think it makes it a little more interesting.”

He describes his style jokingly as “Preppy Muscle”.

“Ha! I workout and I like to enhance the bulk”, he says with a laugh. Speaking seriously on the subject M talks about his love of tailoring and classic shapes and cuts.

“I guess my signature style would be tailoring. This all goes out the window on the weekends, when my uniform changes to baggy jeans, T-shirts and flip flops. I loves my comfy gear.”

For this summer M recommends Ted Baker suede moccasins for the men, describing the electric blue shade the colour of the summer.

“I am on a one-man mission to educate the world to wear moccasins without socks. as I have seen so many men wearing them with. It’s revolting. It has to stop!”

For girls, he is all about accessories, recommending House of Harlow jewellery.

“Nicole Richie is making an impact in the accessories world and I think her pieces are great for the summer; fun, shiny and all out fabulous.”

When it comes to AW11 M wants to see animal prints and chunky knits. He advises us all to purchase something blue, something leather and something furry!

“I am a sucker for knitwear when it’s made properly. Blue is coming back with force this AW and you people need to be ready! Azur blue being the key shade. I would also invest in some great leather pieces and if you can. get some incredible fur.”

Most bloggers read other blogs and look up to other writers. M confides in us that he, although ashamed to admit it, doesn’t read too many blogs! He does, however, mention one: Girl A la Mode.

“I think she has something really special going on and a fresh sense on fashion. Always look forward to what she will post next.”

When it comes to the subject of online fashion, M is all for it, saying it’s easy and convenient. Although he does like to feel what he is buying.
