While the catwalks are undeniably a bountiful source of style inspiration, it’s on the streets and through browsing the increasing number of fashion blogs that we get most inspired. As part of our new style series, we will be looking at some of the prominent trends cropping up around the blog world; whilst hopefully introducing you to a new style-blogger or two!
If, like us, you are getting incredibly impatient for spring, then it might be time to start incorporating some SS12 trends into your winter wardrobe. Take cues from the blog-o-sphere and inject some sunny accents into your winter wardrobes, or go the whole hog and shine in high-lighter yellow!
Stefanie from the Style Safari recently worked winter brights, choosing to wear her bright yellow pants with a snakeskin Zara blouse. Finishing off the look with a statement necklace and some nude pumps, this outfit is the perfect desk to dinner look. We would throw on a black mannish overcoat too, just to keep out the cold.
5 inch and Up’s Sandra is one of the top UK-based bloggers, so certainly isn’t afraid to try out more daring combinations. Teaming a COS pleated mini skirt with a basic sleeveless shell top and some killer Nicolas Kirkwood heels; she works the tough/feminine balance perfectly.
Perhaps the best yellow piece to invest in would be a dress, that can be layered up at this time of year of paired with bare legs and minimal accessories come summer. Kiwi blogger Marcella from the brilliant Fashion Distraction always looks incredibly well turned out, mixing trans-seasonal garments with ease. We love how she wore her vibrant ASOS dress with a faux fur gilet and long Zara trench, glamming up the ensemble with some killer Topshop platforms.
Finally, demonstrating how we should all be wearing yellow when the sun comes out to play is the gorgeous Yara from This Chick’s got Style. A simple silhouette, bare legs and a pair of killer black sandals to top it off! Perfection!
How will you be wearing yellow?
