Peruvian style blogger Luanna Perez-Garreaud is striking in many ways. Firstly, she is gorgeous; her flaming mass of red hair bears an uncanny resemblance to actress Isla Fisher (Confessions of a Shopaholic). Secondly, her style blog Le Happy has reached cult status in the fashion world; most who read fashion blogs will have come across her pictures a fair few times. Thirdly, her style; a mixture between inner-city grunge and luxe goth is something many girls aspire to. Now, residing in New York City while she studies fashion merchandising, Lua proves that with ambition and application, you can go far and achieve your goals.
What inspired you to start Le Happy?
I was inspired mainly by the website Lookbook.nu\. I saw so many inspiring pictures of girls with gorgeous outfits, it made me wanted to post there and contribute with my style! After a while I decided I wanted a more personal platform to share my style with others.
How would you describe your signature style?
I would say it’s in constant change! But I’m mainly into grunge and gothic items paired together.
You recently moved to New York from Peru. How does fashion differ in the two countries?
Fashion in Peru is changing nowadays, people are being more creative. However, it still lacks that eccentric style many New Yorkers have! I can’t explain how much inspiration I get here! In Peru the fashion sense is more conventional.
What advice would you give to girls who want to move abroad to study?
It’s an amazing experience, however, it is a little bit tough being away from your family and at the same time trying to keep the straight As. If you are independent, definitely go for it! I have learnt so many things so far and still am amazed by this experience.
Who is your favourite blogger and why?
I don’t have one!
iFashion is all about shopping online. What are your favourite online boutiques?
I love Romwe, BlackPyramid Shop and Market HQ.
What is top of your Christmas list?
I want a pair of vintage black chunky leather wedges!
Do you think blogging has any negatives?
It sometimes difficult to post constantly while having a lot of responsibilities, but I think that’s all.
Finally, how do you see your blog a year from now?
I think it will be the same :) But I like that. I really enjoy sharing my style and creating outfits.
