Beyonce – A Maternity Style Star

Sunday night gave us a reason to love Beyonce even more, as we watched her amazing and exclusive ITV show ‘A Night with Beyonce’. The hour-long special was hosted by Steve Jones and saw Queen B perform a host of hits including recent releases from her album ’4′. Apart from Beyonce’s obviously amazing and powerful voice, the lady dazzled in an array of sparkly mini dresses and bustier tops. We loved her festive outfit choices, although the show was actually filmed in August (prior to her pregnancy announcement on MTV). Nevertheless, Beyonce’s growing baby bump has not tempted the singer to hide behind baggy jumpers and shapeless dresses. The superstar has in fact looked more fabulous than ever while embracing her new role as an expectant mother. We take a look at her best maternity outfits and see why the bootylicious singer has still got it.

Who could forget the fabulous bright orange Lanvin gown Beyonce wore to the MTV Video Music Awards back in August? Playfully holding the loose dress around her baby bump in front of photographers, Beyonce revealed that she was indeed pregnant with her first child! It was the perfect dress to make such a joyful announcement, bright, breezy and full of zest!

At NYFW, Beyonce continued to show off her bump in an array of fabulous dresses, proving she is one hot mama indeed. Wearing a gold sequin J Crew number at the J Crew show; the only thing more sparkly than Beyonce’s outfit was her beaming smile. Changing later in the day before hitting the FROW at Vera Wang, she once again opted for buttery, warm colours. Wearing a nude leather peplum vest over a shredded organza bubble skirt (both by Vera Wang) we applauded Beyonce’s maternity appropriate fashion week choices. She later stepped out in an all black, leather trimmed gown for the Tory Birch store opening. She is one busy lady!

Being pregnant hasn’t slowed Beyonce down just yet. Launching her new fragrance ‘Pulse’ in late September, she covered up her baby bump yet again in sequins, wearing a royal blue Roberto Cavalli matching dress and blazer. We love the fact she isn’t eschewing catwalk trends, making her own creative statement by incorporating party wear into a maternity suitable wardrobe. Indeed, the superstar seems to be wearing some of the most gorgeous maternity gowns we have seen in a long time; demonstrating that a big tummy doesn’t have to equal dowdy dresses and shapeless sweaters. We adored the white hot crepe halter gown by Lanvin Beyonce wore at yet another fragrance launch in September and of course the long black gown she chose for the screening of her new DVD Live at Roseland.

Of course, while she may look fabulous in a glamorous gown, Beyonce also rocks a casual maternity look like a seasoned pro. You could be forgiven for thinking this lady has been pregnant before. Stepping out in Manhattan recently in maternity leggings, a slouchy tee, pork pie hat and a large red tote; she tackles comfy pregnancy daywear in one stylish ensemble. Not one to shy away from colour, the 30-year-old entertainer rocked a business casual look heading to an office in NYC. The candid shots show the star in fitted jeans, hiking boots, a leopard print chiffon scarf and a rocking red blazer, very Christmassy!

So now we have a maternity style icon! One more string to Beyonce’s every-growing bow! To get your maternity wear we suggest 9 London – see if owner Emily’s predictions about Beyonce wardrobe were correct when we spoke to her earlier in the year by clicking HERE.
