Next week we will take a look at the best dressed stars of the year, but, until then, here are a few more enviable outfits we can take inspiration from. Making our penultimate best dressed list for 2011, these stars pulled out all the stops, embracing the Christmas Spirit in festive ensembles. Embellishment, pops of colour, sequins and sparkle… roll on Dec 25th!
Super stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe demonstrated just how she has made such a big name for herself in the fashion game earlier in the week. Attending her own ZOE media group launch party, she celebrated a successful year of the leading women’s digital company in a sparkling burgundy Yves Saint Laurent culotte jumpsuit. Also opting for luxurious embellishment this week was the mighty Florence Welch at the VH1 Divas Celebrate Soul event in NYC. The statuesque beauty looked a knockout in a silk chiffon dress with leather embroidery from Antonio Berardi’s SS12 collection.
Staying ahead of the fashion game in next season’s statement pieces, Charlize Theron wore a SS12 Stella McCartney dress. Although meant for a sunnier season, the midnight blue, black and crisp white dress with sporty mesh detailing is one of our favourite from the collection and looked amazing teamed with fishnet Manolo Blahnik sandals and bright Harry Winston jewels. Meanwhile, High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale impressed us with her off duty look this week in Beverly Hills. Possibly shopping for Christmas gifts, Ashley looked a knockout in a simple Breton stripped T-shirt and pleather pleated mini skirt. The red boots gave the outfit a festive pop of colour and we would love to wear this look right now (although possible with the addition of 70 deniers and a biker jacket in our harsh British climate)!
Last but by no means least, Rooney Mara couldn’t have looked more different from her character at the NY premiere of The girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Wearing a gorgeous, architectural Prabal Gurung number, she tops our best dressed list. Like Lisbeth, she may have opted for black, but the similarity ends there. We love her edgy haircut slicked back and those luscious red lips!
