According to various reports Beyonce and Jay Z’s baby daughter has been born.

Named Blue Ivy Carter and born on Saturday night, the baby and her superstar mother are both said to be doing well.

It is, as usual, down to Twitter that the news has spread, though unlike the rumours last month, these appear to be the real deal, with celebrity friends congratulating the new parents.

Despite rumours the newborn’s names was Ivy Blue, it now appears it is definitely Blue Ivy with a tweet from Gwyneth Paltrow saying: “Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already”. Other friends to publicly offer up congratulations include Rihanna, who wrote “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih” and Russell Simmons.

We definitely have high hopes for this young one!
