Altuzarra Pre-Collection Lands at Harvey Nichols

Joseph Altuzarra’s eponymous label’s first ever pre-collection has just landed at the luxurious Harvey Nichols store in Knightsbridge. The New York designer was last year’s winner of the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award and his highly anticipated pre-collection is above and beyond expectation.

The easy pieces exude a chic ’70s Parisian vibe and have a timeless appeal. The tailoring and sophistication of the collection is resonant of the garments a beautiful Bridgette Bardot holidaying in St Tropez or a young Catherine Deneuve relaxing in the Cote D’Azur might have worn.

The collection is comprised of a crisp monochrome palette, accentuated with pastels of pink & blue and variations of soft greys & beige. Fabrics such stretch poplin and cotton twill feature in the day wear while the evening garments are made from rich liquid crepes to softly flatter the female silhouette. The attention to detail gives it a contemporary finish, for example zips have been sprayed in silicone.

The short ruffle dove jacket is a beautiful desk to dinner piece retailing at £1,315. For trans-seasonal practicality, the long walnut parker is another wardrobe must have and looks so chic worn lightly over the shoulders. Joseph Altuzarra also designed a piece exclusively for Harvey Nichols, a soft black knit jumper that shows a reserved flash of skin via the asymmetrical shoulder detailing. A collection for refined yet real women; be sure to check it out at Harvey Nichols.
