As LFW begins and we wonder who will stand out for the SS12 shows, we look to NYFW for our latest fashion crushes. One FROW girl in particular has caught our eye, with her raven locks and enviable style, was Leigh Lezark – the definition of New York cool. For those who aren’t already acquainted with Leigh, her background as a DJ for three piece act The Misshapes and various modeling gigs have made her an easy choice for front row invites and catapulted her to ‘it’ girl status. 

First noticed on the fashion scene circa 2006, with her edgy hipster aesthetic and cold piercing stare, it wasn’t long before Leigh was regularly being photographed at all the right parties. Swinging between luxe black and ethereal whites and creams, even the most girly of dresses look effortlessly undone on Leigh. Her hair plays a huge part and has remained unchanged through the years, blunt cut and rich black.

Notably drawn to predominately darker colours, Leigh keeps her all black ensembles fresh by mixing textures. Experimenting with pinks and reds, however, does not seem to phase the star. She stays true to her polished grunge look by teeming floral dresses with tough outerwear. The current NYFW, however, has shown Leigh at her fashion best and her latest looks are clearly marking her territory as a regular on the best dressed lists.

At the Christian Siriano show, sticking to tried and tested black-Leigh looked stunning in victorian ruffles cascading down to a slim fitting pencil style skirt. Opting for ruffles on the upper half again, Leigh teemed a black top with rather daring silk red harems split down the middle. A look many would be unable to pull off but Leigh manages so commendably. We absolutely love seeing how she styles herself and will be keeping our eyes peeled for who could rival her for LFW!
